RUVIN GmbH ("RUVIN", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard personal data when you access or use our website ruvin.com and related services (collectively, the "Services").

We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Austrian and European data protection laws.

2.1 Personal Data Provided by You

We may process personal data that you voluntarily provide, including:

  • name
  • email address
  • account-related information
  • organization or destination information
  • Creator application or portfolio information
  • messages or inquiries
  • information related to content permissions or licensing

This data is processed solely for the purpose for which it was provided (e.g. account management, communication, or support).

2.2 Usage Data (Website Analytics)

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service that operates without cookies or persistent user identifiers. We use aggregated analytics to understand how ruvin.com is used and to improve the Services.

Plausible Analytics:

  • does not use advertising cookies
  • does not track users across websites
  • provides aggregated website analytics only

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interest in operating, maintaining, and improving our website.

2.3 Cookies and Similar Technologies

ruvin.com uses only technically necessary cookies that are required for basic website functionality (e.g. authentication, session handling, security).

We currently do not use advertising, marketing, or other non-essential tracking cookies.

You can configure your browser to block cookies, but some website functions may not work properly as a result.

3. Legal Bases for Processing

We process personal data based on one or more of the following legal grounds:

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), where applicable
  • Contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR)
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), such as improving platform quality, security, and performance

4. How We Use Personal Data

We use personal data only where necessary for:

  • operating and maintaining ruvin.com
  • managing accounts and communication
  • responding to inquiries
  • improving content quality and user experience
  • ensuring security and preventing misuse

We do not sell personal data and do not share personal data with third parties for advertising purposes.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We use selected service providers to operate the Services, including providers for hosting, database and authentication infrastructure, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing where applicable.

These providers may process personal data only as necessary to provide their services to RUVIN and subject to applicable contractual and data protection safeguards.

These providers currently include Vercel, Supabase, Resend, Plausible Analytics and, where payments are used, Stripe.

Personal data may also be shared where legally required.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as required by law.

When data is no longer required, it is deleted or anonymized.

7. Your Rights Under GDPR

You have the right to:

  • access your personal data
  • request correction of inaccurate data
  • request deletion ("right to be forgotten")
  • restrict processing
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • data portability
  • withdraw consent at any time (where consent is the legal basis)

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

9. Third-Party Links

ruvin.com may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review the privacy policies of those sites separately.

10. AI-Assisted Tools and Automated Decision-Making

We may use AI-assisted tools to support research and editorial workflows. We do not use solely automated decision-making producing legal or similarly significant effects within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

11. Data Protection Officer

RUVIN GmbH is not legally required to appoint a Data Protection Officer under Art. 37 GDPR, as our processing activities do not involve large-scale monitoring or special categories of data.
